A note to old friends

Praise God, after 8-9 months, I have finally got a prayer group going in in my new (OK not so new any more) workplace! Time flies, and before I knew it, such a long time had passed. It really was much easier to start than I thought it would be, so it just goes to show how much God has prepared the way, and how often we miss opportunities. This was the very same lesson I learned when I was recently in Lijiang with my church. A lot of stories to tell about that too... suffice to say that the fields in China are white with the harvest but the workers are few. Anyway, the challenge now for me and my new colleagues is to keep this little prayer group going and to keep it meaningful and effective. Pray for us if you can! Friends, press on, there is always value in prayer! Just think, if you don't pray for your bosses, your work, and the salvation of your colleagues etc. realistically, who is? Has He not put you in your position at work for this purpose? Even if there are only 2 or 3 of u

And this is the first report from our meeting... Dear colleagues I am happy to report that we had our first prayer group today. Let me share what we discussed: 1. We come from many different church backgrounds. Forgive me in advance if I or anyone else accidentally offends. Romans 14:1 Accept him (OK me lah) whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2. What on earth are you doing in our company? a. More accurately, because your colleagues need you (and not just because you are the only one who knows how to fix the paper jam in the @#$% printer). e. Because He has prepared good works in advance for you to do right here (Eph 2:10) f. Yes, you are a very important person. So, maybe I am not VP, but I am VIP, so don't play play. 3. So, what to do, now that I know I am a VIP? Four levels of workplac

The Call - a new dawn at work

This is the email that started our prayer group at work... Dear colleagues Greetings in Christ! I met some of you last week at F's farewell lunch and asked if you were interested in meeting for prayer. The rest of you, you're on the list because I thought you might be interested as well. As agreed, here is the reminder to turn up at the 2nd floor at 1.00 pm tomorrow. You will have to make your own lunch arrangements before that, as I understand that no food is allowed on the 2nd floor. Do feel free to invite other colleagues whom you think will be interested in joining in, or who simply need prayer for one thing or another. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matt 5: 14-16 Are we ready to switch on t
